you are trying to get one similar to what you've been wearing, the Merrell Moab Ventilator Mid Waterproof. If you want something lighter, check out the Merrell Moab Ventilator.

I have the woman's version of those and really like them.

OP...You don't want to stick with the Ahnu? I got a pair of Ahnu's and LOVE them. Doesn't require any break in period. Wore them for the first time on a 5 mile hike and not a single blister or hotspot on my feet.

I'm an avid supporter of trail runners for hiking. I like Solomons

If you're just looking for something casual to were with jeans, some nice Timberlands should suffice.

I like Merrels also for shorts in the summer.

For some reason the Timberland boots fit my feet perfectly. I had a pair that lasted me 18 years. I bought the exact same boot again and I love them.

Did a couple of weeks on the App Trail last year and I was shocked at the number of people going through with trail runners

Message OT Hiking Boot Recommendations by madmaxvol I have worn out the soles on my Ahnu Mendocino hiking boots, and I thought I would reach out to the OT to see what I should consider as replacement.

Have you thought about re-soling. Probably be about half the cost of new boots

I have a pair of Asolos I've used since 2006. I've hiked all over the world in them and never had a single blister. There's no way in hell I'd have gotten another pair, so I just resoled them.

I hate weight on my feet with a passion. I go with the a pound on your feet is three pounds on your back motto.

Without sounding like that douchebag on the trail trying to tell you why he hikes better, I backpack more than the average person I would say, and I will never wear anything but a trail runner. I have worn Brooks Cascadia, La Sportiva Wildcats, Salomons like the ones you have, and New Balance MTv1. The New Balance are more a minimalist style trail runner but, they are my favorite. Brooks Cascadia a close second. If I were to go back to a mid hiker it would be Keen.

LOWA. At least check them out. These boots are constructed better than Vasque, Solomon, Merrill, and Timberlands.....by far.

Merrell Mid Moab if you are a casual hiker. Had mine over two years and they have held up very well.
