Looking for a good flea treatment for my dog. Seems he picks up fleas in the backyard.

The dermal treatment doesn't seem to work very well, we've tried that. Heard the pills work much better from several people.

Was just looking around on Amazon, but figured I'd ask on here for some guidance.

If there's something better on the market that I can get at the local farm supply store sort of place, that'll be fine too.

Thoughts on this one?

First review for this product:

I have to say, I was a quite skeptical, even after reading the reviews. I mean, it seems like every product to control fleas people rave about are just appetizers for Florida fleas!!!! I took a leap and purchased this product. I am SO glad I did! I have a bulldog that loves to be outside...nothing worked. I gave him one and waited to see if it REALLY would work in an hour...of course it didn't....but after a few hours, I did notice he wasn't scratching. I decided to give him one the next day...and the next day...and the next...NO FLEAS! Nothing...not in my house, not in my carpet, not on my dog!!! So, now I'm on my second bottle...he loves them. He thinks they are treats. Did I mention he's a very large dog? Anyway...don't hesitate...buy it. It's more cost effective than the topicals that only last 2 weeks...if that long.

These aren't daily are they? Maybe somebody should let this guy know..

I do Trifexis for Fleas/Ticks and Heart worms. Kind of expensive since it covers both, but I haven't seen a flea since hes been on it. It takes work to make it go down tho i have to completely crush the pill and put it in peanut butter

Trifexis is what I use. I've never seen a single flea on my dog.

Yeah, they are. They kill all the fleas on the dog. But have no residual affect.

Trifexis doesn't target ticks. Which is unfortunate because my dog gets a lot of ticks at our farm if she hasn't had an Advantage application recently.

Comfortis works fine for my boxer, but he’s half retarded. Think he has a touch of the downs. Fast as frick though. And him’s such a good boy.

Must have come from the same litter as my female boxer.

Advantage Multi takes care of it all. You apply it between the shoulders once/month.

Oh, wow. I thought each chewable would give a few days of treatment.

Had no idea this is daily. $25 for a 7 day supply? That's not cheap.

So, do you guys give your dogs this every single day or only when they seem to need it by scratching?

I can't imagine spending $100/month on this.

The topical doesn't seem to work well.

Comfortis is once a MONTH if needed and works great. I have a small dog and sometimes it lasts 2 months.
