My Dad was a Marine, before he died, I took him to this museum. We have been going down to the Rio Grande Valley for years. Not far from the Rio, a town called Harlingen, they have a great Iwo Jima museum, if around that way, worth a stop.

Harlingen, Tx.

My dad was at Iwo Jima on the second wave. He was promoted one week later to Master Sgt and stayed there for the duration of the battle . The only thing he would say was how badly he wanted some cold water.

The letters he sent to my mom made it sound like he was relaxing on some tropical island. He returned home with a Japanese officer sword.

Could you image anyone of those fairies storming a beach with the kind of fighting that was going on during WW2.
