Mine has no smart phone, or cell phone period.

She's also been immersed in an excelctic mix of music ranging from 90's country to Hootie, the 80's to classic rock to The Beatles. I'm raising her right.

Normal down here? Sir and Maam.

Nobody outside the south participates in that shite.

I won't disallow it, but I'm not forcing them to say sir and maam.

College is an impressive goal. We’ve said high school and are in the extreme minority in our school/peer group. It was tough for a little while in the beginning middle school when most of their friends got them but they’ve accepted and are perfectly normal and happy children.

Check out the minimalist phone and other e-ink phones. They’re the happy medium between flip phones and smart phones. They have buttons and kindle-like screens. I could see that being an option but I’d still be anti social media apps.

No iPads at all
No YouTube
No TV at all during the week
No phones until high school
No electronics in public including restaurants

Electronic stimulus overload and brain rot algorithmic colors and anger pouring into your child’s brain and senses on demand at all hours is a terrible thing.

Learn to be bored
Learn to handle bordem
Learn to be alone
Learn to enjoy quiet
Learn a real skill not an imitation of it in a video game

Public school. No defense necessary.

My son is a senior and decided to go to public school this year. He’s got 4 classes, he’s home by noon. I agree, public schools are out of the question. But we’d had enough of the local private school and how they interacted with him. Daughter is still there. And I’ve told her and my wife she will not be going to public school under any circumstances.

I personally think anime sucks. It’s not my thing. But I don’t care if my kids get into it.

It’ll be held to the same content standards of anything else they consume.

Agree with all of this except the TV thing, but I think no TV is fine too, just not a requirement

Anime is far better than Disney if you're worried about woke stuff.
