I spend more time with my kid than any father I've ever known. And he just won a World Championship in Taekwondo, so it felt like a suitable reward. Seriously - have you ever seen a world champ in a Honda Accord?

You are Mr Miyagi's disappointment.

You people are acting like he was just handed an 800hp vehicle.

It's just a mustang...

And he's just a 15 yr old inexperienced driver.

Something vintage or new with a body kit.

Can you give some examples?

Keep in mind this is high school are kids we're talking about. Unless things have changed with teens more than I realized since my heyday in the mid 80's, a nice Mustang GT is still considered a pretty sweet ride by most teens.

It's above average, but it's nothing to lose your mind about. Even in high school.

Stereotypes are a real bitch

I'm sure that mustang looks great parked in front of the walmart/scuttlebutt strip club combo, but it really isn't a good car for a kid. It contribites to unprotected sex. Get that boy an suv, much easier to put a condom on in an suv. Those things have vanity lights everywhere.

Wow, things have changed a lot since the 80's. I remember it being a huge deal when my brother got his 69 Fastback. So, once again I'll ask, what is now considered the coolest car for a teen to have? Back then it was a really powerful muscle car. What are kids into now?

I also make sure our toddler has a box-cutter with her while she sleeps so she can cut her way out of tangled sheets and not get strangled.

Anyone else googled world taekwondo champions and haven't been able to find any American male champions?

You keep doing what you do. There's a lot of jealousy and envy on this board. Be the best dad you can be, within the means you have at your disposal, f what the rest say.

Wish my Dad was rich when I was 15.

I didn't get a ride till I was 18 and it was his hand me down that had over 200k miles on it.

So what is a cool muscle car for a teen guy nowadays?

None. SUV or pickup truck. I'm not hating. I drive a fricking camry.

Darth, I'm obviously messing with these jealous idiots (though I did buy him the car), but any kid in high school would give his left nut for new Mustang - even a 4 cylinder. Any kid in college would give his left nut for a new Mustang.Hell, most of teachers would too. One only has to look at sales numbers or talk to any teenager. These responses are nothing more than jealousy. That's what makes this so fun.
