So within the past few weeks, we’ve had deadly shootings on Siegen Lane, College Drive, and now Perkins Road. Who’s going to be the last person in BR to turn out the lights?

I’m there a lot. Seems to always be a cop car or two there.

There were several parked across street behind the liquor store today and they fuel up right across the tracks. Have to give zero fricks to do that there.

Highland Road will be the last remnant of Baton Rouge. Rich people behind gates with private security.

Say what you want about New Orleans being a shithole... and it is... but BR has all the crime, murder and cultcha that NOLA does now, with absolutely none of the good, fun, remotely redeeming things NOLA has to offer. I’ll take NOLA over BR any day.

An increase in murders/violent crime in some other cities doesn’t even come close to a normal year for BR and NOLA. I’m sure at Atlanta has seen an increase in crime, yet BR has almost 20 more murders so far this year than ATL, which is a much bigger city.

People (developers, businesses and property owners) need to stop giving a frick about people crying about gentrification and racism. frick em. Price the thugs the frick out. Send the shitbag riff raff to the country. Let them inhabit trailer parks in the middle of nowhere and kill each other off.

Exactly. It’s the per capita numbers that are downright scary when it comes to BR murder rate.

There was a news story earlier this week about how many guns had been stolen in the Riverbend Subdivision. It was a large percentage of the overall city total. That’s a direct result of Tigerland going Section 8/ low income housing.

They have this issue despite paying to have a police car sit at the front entrance to the subdivision from dusk to dawn.

Seems like the “tipping point” is upon the city.

They don’t want to live there. They like living close to you and your nice fancy home cause you have nice things and it’s easier to steal them in the city.

Surprised a developer has not bought out a lot of the homes in Valley Park to make that area commercial lots or upper end multi family homes or condos.

Look at red stick social. Prime example.

It turned a building into a well invested social scene and immediately it caught backlash for “gentrifying” the area.

There’s no pleasing people.

Madison WI has a 30K more residents than BR.

Had 11 murders last year.

Which was up from 4 the year before!

What is BR at?

*Note I HATE Madison. Just comparing crime stats.
