This camera shot has the women's prison in the bottom and Hunt at the top. Bottom left corner is Hwy 74. Intersection with 30 at St. Gabriel would me a mile or so past the top left corner/left side of the photo.
Yes . I know.

I'm not sure what the accuracy of those gauges are, but hopefully Little Prairie drops below Alligator Bayou here in an hour or two.
gonna be a bit longer than that. My prediction last night was 7p today. Unless they pick up the pace

I was explaining that to those that may NOT know. There were two facilities in the photo and you only referred to Hunt.

Manchac @ Amite was 15' @ 5:57a

Water is coming up over I10 East bound right lane between Manchac & 73 exit.

How long before all of this starts going back to the Amite? (Ward, Fountain, AB)

If AB keeps a pace of .16"/hr & Manchac @ LP drops @ 1.44"/hr then in 13.5 hours they'll both be at 13.07'. Puts it at about 11p tonight.

As of 45m ago, it was completely open I10 westbound between 73/Highland. Right lane of I10 eastbound was closed due to water between Highland/73.

Just heard they were going to put (4) 40 inch pumps at alligator bayou to pump the water back out. Not sure if they are trying to save the interstate or the prisons.

That lines up pretty well with the parabolic chart on the last page.

I suspect they are pre-positioning so they can accelerate the drainage once the flow reverses back towards the Amite on Manchac. No point in pumping it out just for it to come back in.

Our local new is full of misinformation. Yesterday they said 42 and Old Jefferson was closed due to water at the Airline. I live right there and both roads were open all day.

I think you're right for both sides of Alligator Bayou Rd for equalizing, what I was getting at was it looks like the doorway for water to exit the whole system may be starting to crack open.

With only water flowing into the system and no way out of the system we have no parabolas, only asymptotes!

It is inherently parabolic becuase Manchac is falling.
