He's talking about the way the earth photos are edited before publication. The Blue Marble has some color adjustments and improvements on clarity, so people will claim it's fake.

Well, I mean... I'm a pilot... I've flown around the world, and I've seen the curvature from around 45,000 feet. But you've got all the answers, it's impressive really.

That’s bullshite. I’ve flown an SR-71 at 80k feet and couldn’t see a globe earth.
