I'm 84 and lately my golf shots are about ten yards shorter than they used to be.

I'm 70 and still have good upper strength. My legs started going in my mid 60s...I walk a lot...play and practice golf a lot but my leg strength just isn't what it was 8-10 years ago.

Good to know. Thanks for the response. Was truthfully looking for a few real responses.

56 here. I either was late for the first or early for the second and skipped the first. But I e noticed a decrease in strength in the last couple years. I worked out throughout my 40s. So maybe I cheated that one.

I workout 4-5 times per week, combo variety of aerobic exercising and weights. My college football player son challenges me to lift more. It’s tempting to clap back at his old man taunts. However, Father Time has taught me that 1 ounce more than “enough” weight risks at very least a “tweak” that will take 6 weeks from which to recover. May linger even longer.

New way of thinking…when I am tempted to break 90 degrees on a hack squat or similar, to show him they don’t make them like they used to, I think:

anything less than 90 is greater risk of injury than return for going so low.

My new (old) truth!

Its not muscle strength that gets ya, it's arthritis, failing joints and degrading disks.

I have a 25 year old son and I used to be able to take him but he definitely lifts now so I don't try my luck when he tries to poke the poppa bear. It's mutual respect since I held the title for so long.

I've been strong as an ox all along. Once I hit 83 it went downhill.

Weight training is important but don’t get tempted to lift heavy going into old age. An injury will be much easier to get and will sideline you big time. Focus on functional movements and stability and balance. And Walk. Walk a lot. Obsessive ambulation. It’s probably the best thing you can do for yourself, fitness wise.

When you need Viagra. At 70 I don't need it. An old friend now deceased told me it hit him at 82, but Viagra wasn't around back then. My dad didn't need it at 84

Canik TP 9 Elite SC. Don’t matter how jacked you are. 9mm to the head negates muscle strength
