Bocage - terrible haircuts unless you are half bald to bald or want a high and tight. The dude who cut my hair had to be in his 90's and the cut was terrible.

This is the problem with a lot of these BR barbershops. Time has passed the barbers by.

Is there anywhere in Baton Rouge that's doing the old school barbershop feel without barbers telling personal WWII stories?

Troy's is awesome if you aren't into scissors. Not sure they even own a pair. You'll walk out of there looking like a state trooper.

Master Cut by Reeve's Supermarket. Corner of cedarcrest and Old Hammond. I'm 31 and cannot remember ever getting my haircut anywhere else. $13 + tip. They don't wash your hair, they don't take appointments. Wild game and LSU stuff all over the walls. 3 barbers - Father, son, and long-time employee. Sometimes the conversation is dead, but sometimes it's hillarious.

Eddie Newell. Always has folks waiting for him. Ran a downtown shop for years, first at the Capitol House, then at the AmBank building.
