The P-47 was (is) something else. That double wasp engine…. I saw one at an air show as a kid; I will never forget the sound it made.

The “jug” was an amazing plane. Very powerful, and very fast. The P-51 gets most of the hype though.
The P-47 had an armored cockpit, and I believe one of the first if not the first fighter to have a bubble canopy.

Tons of firepower with 8 machine guns, and could also carry rockets, and 500lb bomb.

Y'all need to be watching Kermit Weeks' channel on YouTube.

And Greg's Airplanes and Automobiles.

Y'all might actually learn a thing or two.

As much as I cross that god damn bridge, I never see the cool shite

Saw a guy stop his truck at the very top. Get out and fell out the door. Just laid there between the truck and the barrier. When I got over the bridge, I showed this to a cop and he said "definite heart attack". They feel like the safety belt is constricting their breathing.

You are correct it was one of the 1st aircraft to get a bubble canopy. The prototype D model P47 had a canopy taken from a British Hawker Typhoon which got its bubble canopy in January of 43.

One of the few movies I really liked as a kid, and still gets me now. Has a strange effect, I'm not even sure what to call the feels.
