Leonpacher road wasn’t there off K saloom road. Maybe left off the map. That area was developed to the best of my knowledge in the early 50s

Upon further research, parts of the map aren’t geographically correct, probably b/c the map is not true to scale. Hwy 339 is Verot School Rd. as Lozes Rd , Fabiola , Chastant are not right off Hwy 90. They’re in between Tolson and S. Beadle by Fat Pats.
Interesting that Robinhood off EB Pkwy, was once a single street and is now a circle. Some of the undeveloped areas east and south of the river was rural farm land owned by members of the Dugas family (currently River Ranch), T’Frere’s House and Plantation, and Hamilton’s Club.
The Dugas property consisted of 256 acres and was purchased for $35,000 in 1952.

I don’t see “Future I49 Corridor” anywhere.
Map is suspect.

1946 topographic map with Lafayette in the NE corner
This might help you date the OP map. It was the official map back then and has some street names, church and school locations (but doesn't name them) railroad lines, and it differentiates between paved or otherwise improved and rough roads.

Interesting is that Ambassador Caffery, then known as New Flanders Road, near Robley (Lowes and Home Depot)was loosely called "the road to nowhere." They never anticipated how wrong they would become, as Amb Caff Parkway is the biggest moving parking lot in all of LA, recently eclipsed by I-10 in BR.

It doesn’t show Blackham Coliseum and it opened in 1949. May have just left it off but you would think it would be on the map.

Must be old pre 1960s because Reds would probably be labeled.

Why are East and West Bayou called parkways on that map?
