I mean, we've known about the images for 4+ hours. No telling how long the Chinese have known about them. Ships and/or planes were around that "item" within minutes.
You make good points. I would assume they have been to the Chinese satellite area by now. But there haven't been any reports verifying shite since the images were released to the public. So I really don't know what to think at this point. Besides, Aliens.

The shuttles didn't orbit at a high altitude, typically less than 5 miles.
EDIT: Nope, checked and I was WAY wrong. Typically 100-500 mile orbits, depending. The stratosphere, where the shuttle blew up, is 31 miles.
While it's good you found your own mistake, you still deserve to be ragged for this example of innumeracy. FFS, Mt. Everest is taller than 5 miles! Passenger planes fly at higher altitudes. Hot air balloons can ascend twice that. The shuttle astronauts wouldn't have needed spacesuits for their EVAs at 5 miles up, just a heavy coat.

ETA: And it's nearly 9:00 A.M. in Malaysia. Tiger Droppings has known about the Chinese satellite images since before day-break. Pretty sure that area has been investigated by now. And if that "item" were the plane, we would've heard about it by now.
You have to consider that TD investigators are abundantly more competent than the Malaysian authorities.

So at this point, aliens still can't be ruled out, right?

If they would have explored and found something within those 3 days, don't you think they would have shown footage instead of a satellite image?

Chinese found the survivors but haven't announced anything as they are extracting info on cloaking from the people that work for that Texas company.

quote:If it were actually the plane, absolutely they would have! That's basically my point. They've had these images for three days, presumably (IMO) explored the area around the images, yet not reported finding the plane. Thus, the only logical conclusion I can draw is that either A) The image is not of the plane or B) The Chinese have found the plane but haven't told us about it yet.

ETA: A is the obvious answer! Because by this time, American planes and/or ships have visited the site of the satellite images as well.

I just find it odd that we have known about the recent photos from Chinese for more than 4 hours. I know there are boats and planes within 4 hours of that site. I just don't understand why it hasn't been confirmed yet. It would only take one glance at it to know. It's not like they have to go down and inspect it by hand.

Are you in the government cover-up category?

quote:Nope. Not at all. If I had to pick a category, it'd probably be the "No one has any idea where this plane is" category.

Just to be clear, I was joking when I said, "Choice B it is!" Only joking. If they had found the plane, they would've told the world. And if the satellites images were of the plane, they would've found the plane by now.
Thus, if the satellite images were of the plane, the Chinese would've told the world about finding the plane by now. Since the Chinese haven't told the world about finding the plane, the images are obviously not of the plane.

So the Chinese found the plane with a satellite and you think that isn't impressive enough?
They just want someone to do the easy work of confirming what they found.

To be fair it has only been daylight for 4 or 5 hrs over there so a confirmation 4 hrs ago would have been stretching it imo. I'm not sure of the night time operations but they probably won't confirm for sure until daylight.
Granted now they have had plenty of time to get to these spots.

Here's something I just learned. Rolls Royce built the plane's engines.

It's probably like the life raft posted earlier....it has sunk.

No one honestly still believes those satellite images show the plane, do they?. . . I mean, we've known about the images for 4+ hours. No telling how long the Chinese have known about them. Ships and/or planes were around that "item" within minutes.
Where the objects are should be a little bit to the east of the original search area.
Just because the images were taken on the 9th doesn't mean the objects were discovered at the same time.
Images definitely aren't as clear as they were before being released.
Considering how the Malaysians have screwed up this entire incident ships and planes may not get there for days.
