Just because the images were taken on the 9th doesn't mean the objects were discovered at the same time.
Images definitely aren't as clear as they were before being released.

Considering how the Malaysians have screwed up this entire incident ships and planes may not get there for days.

In fairness, their first act might not be reporting it to TD posters.

I think that it's only been daylight for a few hours. Nevertheless I don't think we will get realtime data anyway. Whenever they do find the plane we probably won't know for hours that they have found it.
They interviewed a captain in a US destroyer in the last few hours. At that time he said they were in the planning stage and weren't immediately heading towards the objects until ordered to do so.
ETA: can we get a Malaysian scanner link?
During the boston bomber chase all the cable news outlets were reporting info a good 45 min behind realtime.

At least this much appears confirmed.
25m
The Malaysian air force is on the way to the site of the debris spotted by Chinese satellites, reports CNN.

Someone should call those hippy whale wars frickers, they always seem to find that Japanese whaling ship in a massive ocean. Finding a airplane in a smaller area would be easy.
Plus they could make an entertaining show of them almost sinking themselves in the process.

It's probably like the life raft posted earlier...
If you were a boat out there and you came across something like a raft or an object that could be a plane part, why not anchor your boat right where you found it and either tie the thing to the boat or haul it up onto the boat?

I honestly believe that life raft was just some old raft off of a freighter. The place where they found it is in the world's biggest shipping channel. The shipping through there is the whole reason Singapore exists.
