There was a new thread earlier today saying Deputy Arnold died. I think BeeRye was the OP. Was that BS?

Yes it was. I talked to some friends that are JP's and they said he's still in critical condition

Yeah, was falsely reported. Jpso issued a statement denying the rumors that were floating around

You're not the first to say he died. 5Alive had him dead the day of the shooting. Another poster said he wasn't breathing for 30 minutes - which sounds like irreparable brain damage.

Yeah. Stephen and I graduated high school together. A fellow alum posted on Facebook that he had passed and I took him at his word

I heard the same. It doesn't look like he's going to improve.

Element of surprise? Maybe the suspect isn't home during the day?

Yep, likely at his job.

Is it possible that the shooter thought this was a home invasion?

No, they had clearly announced they were police and the guy knew they were police.

He fired through a wall not the door at the stack. The officer shot was 3rd or 4th in the stack

Since the day this happened, I've read that the mother of the shooter said they knew it was LE raiding the house and that the shooter was not in the front room of the house. How the shooter didn't end up full of holes after shooting the cop is a mystery to me.

Because after firing 5 times (not 100% sure on how many shots) he threw down the weapon prior to officers entering the room and he was actually unarmed when they found him.

That fricker deserved to get lit up. Dead men tell no tales (although I guess body cams would).
