Bruh that shocking obstacle is no joke. I tried to sprint through it and it locked my entire body up and I face planted.

What shoe would you recommend for a tough mudder?
Shoes you will throw away after race

Wasn’t it tough mudder in Baton Rouge when an obstacle collapsed and hurt a bunch of people?

If you can run a few miles and do a few push ups/a pull up..... you'll be fine.
Like with a lot of things, 80% is just showing up and taking on the challenge, but I would want to try to put myself in position to be able to complete all the obstacles. I wouldn’t be ok just showing up bare minimum ready and have to skip things. If that’s what you do then what’s the point unless you’re just tagging along with your friends and see it as a purely social event.

Ok, I just realized they had that electric shock obstacle. That is fricking retarded. What’s the point?

The tough mudder I did was mainly pull up type obstacles.
And grip strength ones as well.
I'd say run 3-5 miles at least a few times weekly.
And do push ups/pull ups/lunges etc a few times a week.
Maybe add in some farmer carries to build grip strength up as well.

I started running last year so that is the easy part for me. But I know I’m awful at pull ups/grip strength type stuff. I only just recently started incorporating pushups into my workouts. I don’t have any weights or pull up bar at home, may need to invest in some if I can’t find a tree on my property that’s good for pull ups.

Anyone ever done a Savage Race? Looks the closest to tough mudder without the stupid electric shock type stuff.

2016 Warrior Dash in St. Francisville. I was there.

Dead hangs are a good start.
Just hang from a branch or bar.

It’s the very last obstacle when you cross the finish line. You can (and most do) skip it.

Did the Spartan in Kiln, Ms a few years back. Was a ton of fun. Some things obstacles were hard but it wasn’t too bad. Did the Tough Mudder in Abondale which was way tougher but also a lot of fun.

If you're talking about one of those big inflatable obstacle courses then I would wreck all you fools
If you're talking about running a 10 mile race only to have to crawl in the mud underneath barbed wire and shite, frick that. Y'all can have all that.

Saw xterra cross triathlon on television. Swim, mountain biking, trail run. Looked badass

I have done several (warrior, tough mudder, panther, savage) and savage has the best obstacles. It’s about 5 or 6 miles and 20+ obstacles. As long as you can run 3-4 miles you’ll be fine because you can rest at the obstacles.
