Alcohol is our only legal vice and escape. I do not drink anymore, but i see the negative affects everywhere.

I smoked pot for a long time, I don't anymore. Made great grades in school, never had problems. In fact, the only problems I ever had was when someone was trying to convince me that it was bad or force me not to do it. Basically creating problems out of nothing. Perfectly fine to get smashed and smoke a PACK A DAY!! Both of which are physically addictive btw. Also, opiates are by far worse the marijuania and cocaine, which of,course is prescribed left and right.

Cocaine? Moderation. People are going to do it anyway. Our prison system is basically there to house people that use cocaine. Monitored use on small scales is fine. Let the irresponsible people suffer and get weeded out. Plenty plenty successful lawyers, doctors that hit a bump now and again.

I think people should be able to make choices and be responsible for them. Good or bad. Make it legal, stop funding all the cartels in Mexico. Stop the corruption in our government/justice/prison system. Keep good law abiding citizens out of jail.

Yep. Strangely, people want drugs to be illegal so society will be safer and more orderly. Nothing creates an unsafe, unorderly society than prohibition and the black market it creates. More government solutions creating more problems than they solve.

If you're going to be an irresponsible person there is a place for you. Doesn't really matter what it is, our tax dollars could be much better spent improving society in general. Roads, infrastructure etc..

If a jackass overdoses or drinks himself to death, then there is a place for that person.

Let's keep violent criminals and thieves where the belong. Let people put in their body's whatever the frick they want.

Exactly. If you hurt someone it should be a crime, if not it should not be a crime.

Apples and Oranges. Coke and Meth can kill you. There is no amount of weed that will shut your body down.

Many legal things can kill you. If people want to take that risk, they should be allowed to do so.

I have no idea why you are doing the childish roll eyes thing. If anything 1,000 times is an understatement.

To me, if there's a theoretical dose of meth out there that doesn't cause harm, then why shouldn't it be legal? Where would the government interest be if safety factor is removed?

He also said "As has been well-documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I don't think it is more dangerous than alcohol,"

If you take all of his quotes and don't cherry pick the one in the OP he actually appears to promotes legal Marijuana.

I thought his quotes from the articles I read were very encouraging towards legalization up to him saying the feds are planning on staying out of it and letting CO etc move forward.

Oh and full disclosure I am not a Democrat or an Obama supporter. So I am not bringing this up for political purposes. Simply for logical marijuana law purposes.
