With a Union, Owners can’t get away with generally keeping workers insulated and ignorant as to each others pay, therefore often able to Low-ball/underpay as many employees as possible.

Collective bargaining takes that away from them.

Not when the hospital controls what they pay you. Even if you’re a rockstar icu nurse with 25 years experience, who literally coach new residents/fellows and attendings trust your word, they pay you maybe $10 more than when you started.

Not if nurses feel like they are underpaid. Im not saying they are, Im just saying if they fell underpaid they will play the hand the think will win.

That is true at a lot of hospitals. My wife has 20 years of experience in ICU,ER and as a young nurse PCU. She's worked at hospitals in 5 states, done covid travel assignments, etc.

She's in a great place right now but if she were working at a local hospital, her base pay would be maybe 35 per.

Nothing substantial to contribute. The idea there maybe an opportunity to call someone working in a hospital a scab in the future seems pretty great.

.y wife worked some travel assignments a few years ago as a scab. They put them up in a hotel and bussed them to and from the hospital through the picket lines.

She made fricking bank.
