It only cost your bank, your credit, hell on your family, hell on your health, problems with relationships (family or SO), potentially your life or if you're lucky like I was, just jail.
And I say lucky to go to jail bc I was on a collision course with death. People like me shouldn't be hanging in the streets of BR thinking those people are good people. I've been shot at, shot (hit my arm) and probably close to ODing tons of times.

Bingo. Then the DR yanks the script after they have become physically dependent so they will seek alternative means to not be sick.
Although they have cracked down on the scripts in my area. Pain management clinics have been getting shut down for over prescribing.

I'm sure this has been posted here at some point. BUt this is good documentary on John Frusciante in the throes of his addiction. At one point, he got a severe infection and had to have all of his teeth extracted. He ended up getting implants.

With the way it is out there today, if it were ever relatively safe to do heroin, that time is long gone with the fentanyl epidemic.
A lot of people 4/5 years ago were also dieing from methadone and being overperscribed by doctors when seeking help.

That is also a big problem, I understand that docs position, the other is there are people in legitimate pain who need something and when and get under prescribed, then when they ask for more they often get treated like pill chasers. Some of the underperscribed then go to the black market for their pain releif needs.
