Not enough. To their credit, I did have the option to keep my pension. Thanks to contributions ending only a couple years after I was tenured, unless I was going to live to 110 it made sense to take the shitty buyout. I take incredible solace in knowing that my retirement was fricked by company leadership wanting to appease stockholders. Always gotta look out for those who are most important

I think it’s pretty pathetic to use the term deserve and real man in the same sentence. If you can’t take your life into your own hands, you shouldn’t thump your chest about your manliness. Enhance your skills to the point you’re marketable to other business and don’t play the victim card. If you were a talented enough, better companies would be knocking down your door.

Uh, they have been knocking. I don't take it because I like where I'm at. Six figures, unlimited PTO, WFH full time. I could get a 50% pay raise by taking a new job tomorrow. Unfortunately, loyalty and "wanting to see things through" are important to me, as they are in most "real men". Sorry you've never been valued enough in a job to know that the platitudes you toss about so effortlessly are not relevant to those of use truly valued by our employers.

A guy on the radio the other day said the company that owns the radio station already put a hold on matching contributions. Can't remember which company it was. Maybe iheart or cumulus.
