Turkey, you shouldn’t try to deal with this alone. It sounds like you have done everything you could do. It’s perfectly normal to grieve when you lose someone that’s been a big part of your life. Believe me, I speak from experience when I say there is help available to work through this grief. Speak to your primary care medical provider and they should be able to steer you in the right direction.

I’m going to tomorrow. It’s gotten worse and I know I can’t do this alone now. I think about it when I’m having a unrelated conversation with someone. I think about it every time I pass by their office on my way to work. It’s not healthy. I still work in the same field so it’s very difficult not to think about it during the day. I’ve had PTSD since 2016, it was half arse manageable before, now it’s just ridiculous

I’m glad to hear that….sounds like you need some relief from all of this.

So you witnessed a murder, and the guy that did it is still running free? You should get this story in front of Woody Overton of the Real Life Real Crime podcast. He's a retired detective that lives in Louisiana and is developing a pretty good history of getting attention to these police cases that are handled incorrectly and getting justice.

Update: the son was arrested this morning for domestic abuse battery and domestic abuse strangulation. I’m guessing it was for something besides his dad’s death, but this should at the very least help the detectives see him for what he is. Sleeping a little easier tonight.

Losing a mentor is much harder than most people understand because it can greatly affect you personally and professionally.

Just gotta take it day by day and get professional help if you need to delve into it more effectively.

Fill in some gaps.

1. You saw the son kill his father? Was it a beating with fists? A bludgeoning with an object of some sort? How did he kill him?

2. Who fired you? The son?

3. You mention “they” threatened you. Who is “they” other than the son?
