Thunderbird Beach: The slide, good 60's music & bikinis!
Show-Town Drive-In: Double Screen Drive In located behind State Police Troop A on Airline Highway. Great memories from inside the car!
Cherry's Potato Chips mostly found in Gonzales area, absolutely in the top 2 best of all time potato chips. The other being Charles' Chips in the big Can!
Fat City in Metairie. Had some great times disco dancing after my ETS from the Army. The Showboat was one that brought me many pleasant memories.
Burger Delight just outside of Gonzales. Burgers that beat all the national brands hands down! To quote an Arby's commercial...they had the meat!
The Gazebo Grill in Gonzales. Great little place to get a good breakfast after a night of drinking. You looked to your left and to your right and you would realize you weren't the only one drunk!
Eddie's Lounge in Gramercy! Bill Wray, Paper Steamboat, Zebra, The New Concept, etc. Lots of good music and plenty ladies!
Cal's Club in Prairieville. Used to go see Van Broussard on New Year's Eve. Never with the same girl.

Apparently there was a drive-in where BRCC is now. I have absolutely no memory of it at all, although I think I was in BR while it was still operating.

Riverside, the most hated company in BR. Those frickers still over on River Rd, close to downtown by the Casino?
I suspect so because they are still around. They got me once I think. Assholes.

Shoney's Drive-In located in Clarksville, Tennessee. Soldiers from Ft. Campbell would just drive around in circles waiting for a car full of females to flash their headlights at 'em. Many relationships began this way.
Johnny's Follies TV show, Miss Linda, Morgas the Magnificent with Chopsley, American Bandstand, Soul Train, Buckskin Bill, and The Belmont Hotel & Convention Center

Not sure when it actually closed but it was going strong through the 70's. There was another one in Baton Rouge but I can't remember the location..maybe on Florida Blvd. and it was called the Tiger Drive In. Plenty x-rated movies!

I miss St. Paul's having boarders. The day students learned as much from us as they did from Bro. Whoever.
What a diverse group in every era. Some guys were there because of trouble with the law and needing a second chance. One guy, a favorite of mine, was in residence because his dad was on Giuliani's mob task force. Many of the guys from Mexico and Central American countries were real cool. One even came to my son's wedding.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
I came in here to post both Pontchartrain Beach and Money Hill.
Money Hill would have to top the list though. We spent many weekends camping at this great place with large groups of family friends and kids. Found memories.

Radio Shack. When you need a cable, adapter, etc., that was the place to go.

I miss going there with my grandmother. I specifically remember those metal turn styles and that she'd get me a piece of candy when I went with her.
There was one on Jefferson near Corporate.

The Rebel Drive In was where BRCC is now. Showtown closed probably mid 80's. And the Tiger Drive In was on Airline down by the Merrydale area.

I don't live in NOLA anymore. Did Teddy's in Gentilly ever come back post-Katrina? They had the best roast beef po-boys I've ever had. And you could get a whole loaf po-boy - perfect for parties and football days.
Ditto Radio Shack as well. So where does one go now for all those little replacement parts?
