The Mayor posted this update on the city FB page:
CLECO substation on Philip Drive (off Ronald Reagan Hwy) caught fire. Once CLECO has assessed the damage they will re-route electricity using alternate routes. This will take at least several hours. Thanks to Cov Fire, FD # 12, FD #13, Mandeville Hazmat team, Cov PD and St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office (sorry if I missed anyone). Public Works sewer plant team, water department and sewer team are on call w skeleton crews and generators to pump down lift stations as needed and keep water wells up and running.
With several pictures but he's too lazy to upload to a hosting site.
