Sorry :)

This happens nightly in NBR. Drug deals gone bad. Thug life. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Why not? You seem to have an opinion on everything else people post

Getting pissy cause people aren't happy about crime.

Nola clearly needs a vigilante.

An innocent looking passerby walking thru between 8pm and 4am. With a loaded handgun with hollow points.

Put 5 - 10 of them out there in the tourist areas and at least instill the fear of lead in these assholes.

I'm not pissy at all. I think you're pissy because I'm not.

What if this happens in NBR?

What would be your thoughts on how this went down?

There aren't really any white people (or very few) in NBR at 4am. If it was a black on black crime it would barely make the news because they either try to suppress it or it's so common that it's not newsworthy. It's a sad reality.

I've walked around Bourbon and Canal at 4 am. I am completely aware of the element and the consequences. Sucks for the 22 year old kid. Thankfully he's still alive and hopefully he's learned his lesson

The only places that have a lot of people moving about in BR after midnight are 3rd Street and tigerland.

Those places are (usually) crawling with cops. Of course there's still crime in those areas but nothing this substantial or prolific

Victim Blaming 101

"He should have known."

"She shouldn't have worn that skirt."

Etc.

Etc.

Yeah BR is certainly not a safe city but one can just avoid entire areas and have a reasonable expectation of safety. 80% of the murder happens north of Florida Blvd and just north of LSU. It still sucks but it isn't on Nola's level

Your assumptions are as amusing as the rest of your points.

Keep at it, hero.

Sounds relatively simple and easy to do until you realize the NOPD will confiscate your gun, the perps family will sue you in court, the NOPD may or may not charge you with the illegal discharge of a fire arm in city limits (a Felony charge),

NOPD seized thousands of guns after Katrina. The NRA balled out on their arse.

NRA will usually take a pro bono case to defend someone who's had their firearm illegally seized by police.

and if you get passed all of those obstacles you have to worry about the vermin's friends and family targeting you or your family in some sort of retaliation event which doesn't usually work out so well.

Enough bodies drop, and the New Orleans trash will eventually start robbing their own again, and stay out of the nice areas.
