I agree with you 100% that we have problems that must be fixed. Being a black man in the United States must not be easy. Being poor and black is a fricking death sentence. How can we possibly address this if we don’t also address the fact that 13% of the population commits the majority of the crime? If we can fix that, we reduce the number of police interactions, thus we reduce the number of police brutality cases.
From there we can address how police interact with the public. We can take an honest assessment and implement change. Until we can have that honest conversation without white people and Black people getting mad or feeling like their perspective is being dismissed, we are fricked.

Some police will resist being targets and arrest some peaceful protestors, lol.
Things will get burned and destroyed which the protestors will get trophies for that.
Less than 4 NOPD officers get fired for being too aggressive for our hero’s.

What is dumb about reality.
A liberal city talking big about protecting people.
Nothing happens until peaceful protest turn ugly.
You ask for a police force you handcuffed for years to get aggressive on rioters.
The people they arrest will be out of jail in a few hours while charges are dropped.
A few police officers get aggressive as tempers get hot after bricks, trash, and other items are thrown at them.
They get charged for a crime with a higher bail than a rioters causing more havoc and they lose their jobs.
City is tore up while no one takes responsibility. The city runs to the federal government for a bail out.
That is reality.

They city council will is now working on a law to ban tear gas. They are blaming the cops for using it as they are bad bad people.
No one is talking about NOLA still being in phase I lockdown except for protesting. We got to make sure businesses stay closed unless they riot.
Wait until the protest grow this weekend and the paid rioters show up with cameras on the NOPD and none on themselves.
If you enforce the law you get in trouble and possibly lose your job or get charged with a crime.
If you do not enforce the law your boss gets blamed and you keep your job.
This one is easy for NOPD officers caught in the middle.
