Is it "Classic Rock" in a 98.1 (baton rouge) sense? Which means:

Def Leppard
Guns N Roses
343453 commercials
ONE OVERPLAYED ZEPPELIN SONG
Def Leppard
Some shitty hair band
23452342 commericals

??

No. I said its an oldies station, they wouldn't play that stuff. You're likely to hear Bob Dylan, some old Stones, Beatles (they play Beatles all the time), Simon and Garfunkel. That type of stuff mixed in with true oldies.

FWIW, 98.1 is drastically better than 95.7. I've heard 98.1 play unexpected Dylan tunes before like positively 4th Street. The list you provided is actually more indicative of 95.7 than 98.1, IMO. 95.7 is AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Sweet Child o' Mine 24/7.

Sounds like 98.1 FWIW.

I honestly haven't listened in years so maybe they've stopped pandering to idiots who just want to hear pop 80's party music.

I remember 98.1 had some segment a few years back called "Friday Freakout" and that was when they actually played classic rock like old Stones, non-top 40 Beatles, Dylan, Kinks, Cream (besides white room and sunshine), etc. I always found it funny how they just straight acknowledged the fact that they were FREAKING OUT and playing actual classics.

NOLA used to be OK with a decent variety. It had 101 for country and 106.7 for Alt rock. 99.5 for classic rocka nd for the kids it had 97.1. and for the thugs 93.3.

Now it is just a mess. Glad I can get Biloxi from here

Finally added Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, and a few other classics. Waiting for AC/DC, Bob Seger, etc.

97.7 in BR is pretty much the only radio I listen to if I listen to the radio nowadays. And 101.1 KBON when I'm in the Lafayette area.

My dad is from NO and always talks about listening to "Da rock of New Orleans" in high school in the 70's.

But I moved away from FM a while back. When I lived in NO I really only listened to WWOZ and XM and occaisonally if I was feeling frisky, WTUL (KLSU is miles better FWIW). I can't deal with the never-ending commercials on FM.

In Lafayette, we still have 105.1, which is a kind of DC101 format, and 93.7, but that's mostly douche rock. 96.9 in Elic still plays good stuff.
