Marines, fratstars, plant baws. When a group of 18-22 year old males are away from home for the first time, a certain percentage won't know how to handle the freedom.

Yeah, so has the enemy. Marines aren't branded as gentleman. We're paraded as warfighters.
That said, the average boot PFC is pretty impulsive and dumb and think they're bulletproof. Those two look like they're fresh out of Air Winger school and will frick anything once the FourLoko kicks in.
However the women's story sounds like conjecture at best. I'd doubt they even know the truth of what really happened.
