DJ Casper did the Cha-Cha slide into the afterlife today, cancer being the bitch that it is.
He was 58
I think line dance is the ultimate cringe activity, but it brought a lot of people joy, so good for him on doing something that people will remember him for.

Laugh at that game all you want but unless you were a kid when it hit the market, you have no idea how fricking obsessed we were over it.

At least that one had more graphics and action as opposed to "Pong" that I can remember seeing as an fairly young adult.
White dot back and forth across the screen with small white lines used to connect with it to send it back to the other side. Simply riveting.....

I was there, sir. That blacklight and the audio haze of weird blips and bloops... it was an acid trip for kids.

It was a million years ago but I can still hear the sound of those aliens going back and forth across the screen on my parents console TV.

It was the first widely available game. Yes, it looks (amd is) primitive looking back on it. But it was the first time you could interact with your tv screen in an active way. And yes, it was riveting to play. Amd I would bet most of us would be surprised how quickly it would become a competitive and interesting game to play, even today. The simplicity is easy to denigrate, but there’s something to be said for simple.

This song and the Electric Boogie always reminded me that I'm an uncoordinated a-hole who has absolutely zero rhythm.
Even when they're literally giving you the directions for how to do it, I'd still fail. Maybe it was the pressure of being in a crowd. Maybe I'm just a tard.
