I’m pretty sure there wasn’t much National Guard along the parade routes. They were mostly in the quarter.
Can someone confirm?

Nola violent crime has taken a huge dip in the last 1.5 years and it’s due to several reasons.

"Chief" would have trouble running a mall security team. The NOPD wheels are barely hanging on currently.

Unusually, I spent 100% of Mardi Gras in CBD and FQ. The National Guard was very present there. I cannot speak for mid-city or uptown this year.

I didn’t see any NG troops uptown along the route on any of the 3 days we went.

Didn’t venture into the FQ or CBD though
