I’m in fort Walton on a balcony as I type this and it’s not bad and not great. Little less crowded which we wanted but has a dated feel to it even though our condo is nicely renovated.

You actually think social media is to blame for destin becoming overpopulated?

It’s one of the nicer beaches within driving distance for multiple states and has been massively overbuilt. It’s not exactly supernatural

According to the OT, it's always been white trash only.

I used to vacation in PCB with my parents when i was a kid. Fond memories. A few years ago i decided to take mine for a long weekend hoping they would have as much fun. Jesus, the level of trashiness was unbearable. We had to rescue an unattended kid from drowning, twice. Same kid both times. It was so crowded and the parents were trashed.

Does the incessant helicopter flying over every 10 minutes bother anyone? To me, that has added to the trashiness of Destin.

So your happiness is based on other people and what they look like or how they act? I bet you are a miserable person to be around

I read this thread and think some of these people are probably the people they bitch about to other people.

and the secret is knowing someone who lives down there somewhere who owns a boat

You are critiquing a vacation destination on the southern gulf coast. If you haven’t been in a cave you know the southern gulf states have been left behind economically. We vote on guns and abortion. If we are limited to drive in vacation destinations that is just how it has to be

Coming from the West, 30-A is fine regarding density until you get to Seaside.

Plenty of good spots for drinks and food as well.

While I like Destin October to April ( won’t go near it May to September) , Destin built way too many condo units with out having the beach space to support the growth. In the 80’s , there was a ton of beautiful beach with not many condos. Therefore, prices were higher and you had to rent for minimum 1 week. That minimum price knocked out a lot of folks. Now, I bet you can rent a condo on the beach for 1 night if you wanted to. Well, Lower prices attract a different crowd.

I’ll get a little more technical than you partna!

Actually, Siesta Key isn’t north of Sarasota either and I listed is as such.

I messed it up. Okay buddy.

That little grouping from AMI down to Boca Grande all runs together for me. It’s the place to be. Everybody has their 30A sticker but not my wife. She has the exclusive AMI sticker. You feel me partna?

Best place out that way is Grayton Beach--past Destin but just before the madness that starts with Seaside.

No condos, no hotels, just houses for rent. One way in, one way out.

No parking lot for the droves to hit that beach, so it's always much less crowded.

The Red Bar and Chiringo for food and drink.
