I smoked over a pack a day for a decade. Once I landed a desk job I pretty much quit cold turkey. Started dipping instead. Don't know how I will shake this.

I stopped vaping 60mg a week or two ago and switched to lozenge

You should have slowly lowered the vaping mg's until you reach 0mg. Most juices step down all the way to 0mg. You'll probably have no withdrawals doing it this way. Hell of a lot easier than going cold turkey.

nicotine in and of itself is not bad

Not exactly. Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor and isn’t good for your vascular system. I had a major medical event about 6.5 years ago and had to quit cold turkey. Had been a smoker for about 27 years. Because of my medical history, I couldn’t use any nicotine products to help me quit. My doctor gave me some anti anxiety meds -Buspar and Xanax- which helped tremendously. The first three months were terrible. The next three months were still pretty bad. After the six month mark, it got a lot easier. After one year I got off of the meds and I’ve been great ever since. It was definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

I haven't been in a deer stand since I quit .. So that is the ultimate test for me.

So you've bought in to the propaganda. That's fine. Smoking and vaping are not good for you. Hopefully you've stopped drinking too. That's not good for you either.

This is the kind of lies I told myself when I was a slave to nicotine, too.

I didn't want the mouth cancer either. And it was nasty AF in retrospect. Dad still dips, and it's disgusting.

I just think "what a sorry sap" now when I see it.

Like the rest, I believe I could fit about a half a can of cope LC in my lip and "enjoy" the shite out of it.

But I'd rather just keep my freedom.

Now maybe I should work on alcohol too. Not a bad idea. But I don't become a jittery irredeemable a-hole after 4 hours with out alcohol.

Driving to and from work was big for me. An hour each way. I crammed in two chaws on the way to get "loaded up."

I'd head out to lunch, on my own, so I could get one or two to "tide me over" till I could leave work at 4 or 5 and stuff my face all the way home.

So pathetic and I did it for years.

Doing yard work was another trigger.
