We recently bought an explorer for my wife. We could not beat the used deal we got.

11 Limited with 35k miles for 26k, spotless

My advice, the sport is cool and it looks a little better in my opinion. But your wife is driving it, not you. Get the limited so it has all the bells and whistles that she wants.

Pro Tip: When you buy they offer to walk you through all the functionality of the Sync system and all the gadgets. Let them walk the wife through it so you don't have to do it.

It's all about negotiating. You want some sleezy car dealership to win? If you don't go in knowing the facts and research you'll be on top. Just threaten to walk out, and see what happens

On the wifes explorer, I said "Make it 25 even and I'll sign the papers right now."

GM literally told me to GTFO, so I did. He didn't stop me or call me back. I figured that was the best I could get after that

The dealership is always winning on you. You're signing a new lease every couple years. What do you think you're winning?

If hauling anything, the ecoboost without question.

Even if you will not be hauling anything, the ecoboost is still nice and very fun from what I hear.

Congratulations on the new car, the explorers are looking great this model year.

Sound advice. Leasing is, 95% of the time, a poor choice for an individual.

Not always. Depending on make, leasing is sometimes the only answer.

What makes you think you're going back to "said" dealership?

OK, I'll bite.

When is it the only answer?

Whatever dealer you are going to every 3-4 years is winning on you.

I'd lease an M6 for a year or two and be just fine giving it back and not dealing with depreciation. Otherwise, I can't think of a time.

If you're a business owner you can write off the payment and fuel if you're privatized LLC. So leasing is a sound option.

Luxury brands. Now keep in mind this is an opinion based on the average consumer who knows for a fact they will want to trade in every 3-4 years...which is more than those who keep their vehicles forever.

Yeah, that's not a bad option. Those cars depreciate like you threw 'em off a building.

Every place of business and or industry is winning on you anytime you go anywhere.

Not bad.

I would maybe say ultra-high end stuff, though.

I just don't think the average buyer ($50K) comes out ahead leasing.

True, but they aren't winning on me as much as they are on Breauxsif.
