Darwinism?

Explain in the context of this shooting.

The guy had his hands in his pants.

I thought it was pretty clear. That is essentially asking to be shot. Not sure how that is up for debate.

My dad was a cop for 30 years before he died. I defend them to the end and try to give them the benefit of the doubt.

But this was a BAD shooting. The cop should be in jail.

either way, I don't feel too badly for him.

The person who placed the 911 call about these kids flashing a gun when none were armed is the person who needs to be arrested. The cop was under the impression that one of these three was armed. Initially, the first two friends put their hands up on command while the victim sketched off from the scene and put his hands in his waistband and audibly disobeyed orders to put his hands up. Suicide by cop if you ask me.

Also, the kid had warrants and had recently posted on Facebook "I feel my time is coming soon, my nightmears are telling me. im gonna have warrants out for my arrest soon ... ill die before I go do a lot of time in a cell."

this faux outrage from some of you clowns is hilarious.

while the cop is driving up he's facing the back of the red truck and walks that way. when the cop is getting out of the car he changed direction and tried to slip off around the front of the truck. when his back was turned and the cops were after him, he put his hands in his pants and under his shirt. when he turned back around he kept his hands hidden and continued to walk away for a few steps. when he finally pulled his hands out of his pants he only raised them to about his navel, one hand was still possibly obscured, its hard to tell from the video, then he fiddled with his shirt and the cop shot him.

This is what I saw too. Dude was acting awfully sketchy from the get go. The way someone packing a gun would probably act while they see the cops roll up. He saw the cops get out and tried to high tail it out of there. Play stupid games...

If he had pull a gun out of his pants and fired at the cops, the cop that shot him would have been a hero.

but that is close to darwinism at work IMHO.
It's societal Darwinism to allow idiots who are unable to evaluate a situation in broad daylight and NOT shoot an unarmed victim to have a gun, badge, and unchecked power.

Are the cops supposed to wait until someone pulls out a gun and endangers innocent bystanders before they defuse the situation? No, they shouldn't.

Well he didn't have a gun and this didn't happen.

Can thieves use this now? "Well if it was free, then it would have been fine to take it."

This site should administer a Wonderlic before being allowed to post. I can't believe some of you are functional.

You're right. Let's just shoot people because they may have a weapon. Everybody is a possible suspect; anybody can be justifiably shot if they don't immediate behave the way that particular cop believes is acceptable.

it's hilarious how many of you are totally glossing over the fact that someone called 911 and told the police that these three people were flashing a gun just a few minutes before the cops arrived.

That, added to the victim's dumbass actions, caused his death.

The cops were called for a guy or group of guys who flashed a gun and matched the victim and his friends' description.

It's a sad ending and it likely didn't have to end in the death of the guy but that is close to darwinism at work IMHO.

Holy shite.

Sure as hell hope they don't vote. I've gotten beyond being surprised at how far people go to support authority though.

They said it was these three? Or did they say somebody that matched their description?

What was that? Walking with headphones (probably can't hear clearly)? Then turning around to see guns pointed? Then when a cop asks to see his hands, bringing out his hands only to get shot for bringing out his hands?

All of this happened in about 5 or 10 seconds. O but he made a remark.
