REG861 is just mad that he got rejected by the Police Academy despite having an IQ that fell within the requisite range of 75 to 95.

It's hard to engage in civil dialogue with fascists who want to impose martial law. It would be one thing to say, well the cop had a tough decision and the outcome sucks all around. It's another to be celebrating a non criminal being murdered.
It's amazing how much deference you show the police. I can't speak for yall, but I'm not in awe of people I tend to be far more educated than and am in better physical shape in many cases. You must have very few accomplishments in life to treat these garden variety cops with such hallowed reverence

i wouldn't call it a good shoot, but it was justifiable. the guy did just about everything wrong when the cops pulled up.
while the cop is driving up he's facing the back of the red truck and walks that way. when the cop is getting out of the car he changed direction and tried to slip off around the front of the truck. when his back was turned and the cops were after him, he put his hands in his pants and under his shirt. when he turned back around he kept his hands hidden and continued to walk away for a few steps. when he finally pulled his hands out of his pants he only raised them to about his navel, one hand was still possibly obscured, its hard to tell from the video, then he fiddled with his shirt and the cop shot him.
i can see the cop thinking the guy was trying to avoid being caught with something, then thinking he may be reaching for a weapon, then thinking he was trying to untangle a weapon from the shirt, and pulling the trigger.

Sadly, if this was your average citizen who used the same defense that he thought the guy may have a gun, he would be quickly charged and found guilty. Cops are TRAINED to recognize threats and the average Joe is not. But for some bizarre reason they continue to be given the benefit of the doubt in cases like this when John Q. Public, who is not trained, would quickly be arrested.

I think 9/11 brought us to this point. The public created this idealized perception of police as a brave, noble force here to lead the charge against evil.
The reality is that they're just regular guys no better or worse than the general public. Police officer have the highest rate of domestic violence. They lie, cheat, steal, and kill just like those they're supposed to protect us from. And as long as we continue to mythologize them they'll continue to go unpunished for all but the most heinous of crimes

I normally don't give cops much benefit of doubt, but...
The cops were called for a guy or group of guys who flashed a gun and matched the victim and his friends' description.
The Cop says "show your hands" while pointing a gun at the victim, and the victim says, "naw, fool"
It's a sad ending and it likely didn't have to end in the death of the guy but that is close to darwinism at work IMHO.
