Man those are super cool. Would love to know how you transfer the image to a usable picture. You’d think the resolution would make the photo several gigs
When i finish processing they are about 140 MB tiff file.
Then in photoshop i change from 32 bit to 16 bit and save
as a jpeg. file.
The tiff files show alot more detail.

Sure beats what I could do with my 18-200mm Nikon zoom.

Let me say yours are some of my favorite posts on tOT.
Anyone can post a picture of a Messier Object or any other random thing they thought was cool and that sort of post is interesting by itself but it is so much more interesting when it is an actual image a poster captured themselves.

JC’s photos make great screen savers and wallpaper.
I’m also damn proud to have him as my personal friend for 40 years.

How big would the file be if you didn’t compress it to 16 bit? They are still super clear

And it’s colorized from space?

The gases have color...
Hydrogen gas will emit light with a red colour (in the right conditions), and some stars shine in blue-white light. If an emission nebula is next to a reflection nebula then you will get blue-on-red. A good example of this is the Trifid Nebula in Sagittarius
Here's one single image with an exposure o 2 mins. straight from camera non process.
I stack about 99 of them to get one picture...

These are great. What telescope do you have? I just got a Celestron Nexstar 8. Hoping it has enough power to see the same.
