MSY has had directs from LHR before

Oh yea? Direct or non-stop? Scheduled service? When was it and who flew it. I'd love to pull the T100 data on it.

I can remember my dad talking about a flight from Gatwick to MSY. Could that be it or was there also a flight to LHR?

i have been wondering a couple things:

a) after tearing down old concourses a, b, and c, there would be large tarmac area remaining. what are the prospects for landing a larger air cargo or even aviation manufacturing facility in that location?

b) has anything been said regarding the logistics of now having your brand new rental car facility on the opposite side of the airport from the terminal? will we revert back to the shuttle system? seems like a lot of work for nothing if so.

Rental car garage will likely just turn into long term parking garage or something.

PIT moved their terminal a while back. They'd be a good comparison to see what happened.

That'd be nice. Maybe lure in a helicopter manufacturer to make helicopters for the offshore industry or maybe Bobby can work his magic and steal Airbus from Mobile haha

If it was a stop on the MEX run that'd make sense, no planes could do the hot high n/s outta MEX to Europe back then, even the 747SP was a stretch and BA wasn't using it.

That said, it's tough to use a nearly 30 year old route as a comparison. shite it was a big deal when AC and WS came in with 3x weekly seasonal service a couple of years ago.

From this schematic, current D concourse could be charter/overflow (think mardi gras or Super Bowl) as well as cargo and itinerant GA

With 0 traffic there is absolutely no way you make that drive in 1 hour.

Huh? I made it from there to Essen in less than an hour this afternoon. 6:13 when passing Vets, met someone off Essen at 7:05.

And hopefully some fricking direct flights to the Caribbean and S America.

Here's a start:

New Orleans getting non-stop flight to Jamaica

The Vacation Express tour operator is launching seasonal non-stop flights from New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport to Montego Bay, Jamaica, on Saturdays, starting May 17.

Can you explain a little better. What is hot high?

Maybe we will finally see some of those Charter flights to Cuba.

New Orleans to unveil plans for new airport at MSYSo they're just gonna tear down Atlantic and Signature FBO's and put the concourse there? Ok... Guess the FBO's are on board. Or they may not have a choice....

I work in Atlantic Aviation building. I heard AA and Signiture will not be affected.
