Virginia Beach native here.

Everywhere West of Richmond is the South. Everything East is not considered the South (Tidewater/Hampton Roads and also NOVA).

West of Roanoke is definitely southern culture, east of Roanoke is definitely not.

VA has become Yankeefied. I actually lived about 3 miles away from Rex, I moved 300 miles away as soon as I learned this fact.

Southwestern VA is, Not true of the Hampton Roads area, at all.

We drove down from Williamsburg today, didn't see a drew Brees jersey..

Crawfish were flavorful but all small, glad I just bought a pound.
Jacques imos alligator and sausage cheesecake was good as I remembered. Also met the yakamaein lady and ate some of that,was good eats. Bread pudding was good, music was good.

Wasn't expecting much but it was pretty nice for Norfolk
