New Orleans is an amazing place. I work part of the year in Folsom but opt to stay in the garden district when in town. The drive can be a huge pain in the bum but Mandeville and Covington are far less superior to old New Orleans.

Best decision ever made was forcing my wife to sell property in Uptown. Such a dogshiite city, though I have good friends there

Been in NOLA all week for the first time in a few years. Walked all over downtown and uptown. No issues. Have had a great time.

I’m happy you enjoyed your stay, mate. The laffite urban bike trail is my favorite thing about such a lovely city. One can pedal from Finn McCool’s and bayou bar in the middle of city to hidden gems like Harry’s Corner and Gemini bar. This always makes a for a fancy afternoon.

Really don't understand this state. If New Orleans goes you turn into Somalia.

Crazy. NOLA Metro is 33% of the states GDP. As NOLA goes, so does the state.

My son just got back from a 5 day New Orleans trip for a friend's birthday. They stayed in the 7th ward, I have no idea where in New Orleans that is. They walked everywhere. I asked him if they ever felt unsafe and he said not at all and they had an awesome time.

Uh. If you actually go into the city you'll be shocked to see it's pretty frickin awesome and vibrant as ever. But don't let reality skew your perception from the media.

well unless you are an older woman, then you will be targeted by black teens and have your arm severed and bleed out in the street while your neighbors look on in horror.
