Money is going to the Catholic Church in New Orleans, they will use it to cover up and pay off victims of sexual abuse

Money is fungible.
Remember that when people refute this.

Sounds like the NOLA homeless are being enabled, not helped.

a majority of homeless people aren't there because they are straight up degenerates... most of them have undiagnosed, untreated mental problems, that predisposition them to struggle with decision making and impulse control, which leads them down a tough road... this isn't the case for EVERY single one of them, and some of them are there bc, yeah, they are straight up degenerates, but even they are worthy of society's care, bc at the very base of it, they are human, and all of us can use a helping hand from time to time... i can't understand how people lack simple empathy and care about other human beings, outside of themselves and their immediate surroundings.... are other people's lives, regardless of where they come from or what they currently are, not worth anything to some of you? is it not possible to have a caring heart, in this society, anymore?
Exactly.

New York City. Five years later, 88% were still living in their apartments at a lower cost to taxpayers and the state government. The idea caught on in other places like Seattle, Denver

costs the state $8,000
And this will hurt the working lower class/middle class via higher housing costs. Also consider the effect on someone working a 9-5 having a homeless person given a free apartment adjacent to theirs, occupied by a homeless person that will not be required to get a job or even get sober. Certainly not the kind of neighbor I would want. And if they aren't required to get a job, care to guess how they'll get the money to buy booze and drugs? They'll leave their "free" apartment to panhandle in the same areas they were in before.
