It broke down in under one hour of use
I thought CanAm was supposed to be better than the Japanese and US brands.

If they didn't know these were repair machines before they bought them, then they shouldn't have a youtube channel talking about vehicles.

The leadership at JLR is destroying the LR brand.
The models aren’t distinct anymore - what’s the difference between a Discovery and a Range Rover Sport these days? They all look the same. And they’ve abandoned the expedition heritage and the blocky designs that made them cool.
With that said, the original series trucks were reliable, underpowered, primitive, and uncomfortable - but reliable. It all went to hell with the luxury models in the 90s. LR was underfunded, made bad compromises to meet emissions targets, and cut corners in production to save money.
BMW and Ford did turn the company around, the trucks from the mid 2000s are very reliable. The LR3, the L322 Range Rover, the Sport. But the company also lost its soul in that period, and so you end up with what you see now.
The last cool LR was probably the P38a. Mechanically, not a great truck, but in hindsight it’s the last capable looking design they produced.
