New File Cabinet, all drawers won't fully shut

Got a new file cabinet. It has a top lock. Both locked and unlocked, all 4 drawers stop and wont fully go in. They stop about 1 inch from being fully closed. I hear it hitting something metallic on the left side, like it is the locking mechanism. But locking and unlocking the file cabinet changes nothing.
Any ideas? I'm stumped and getting aggravated.

Crest a secure folder in windows explorer.

First step...post on OT Lounge and DO NOT LOOK INSIDE the filing cabinet no matter what.

Did you buy this online or in a store where you physically examined it prior to purchase? Just curious.

It is a work file cabinet. I didn't purchase or assemble. Worked great for a week then has been doing this ever since.

I swear to God, I don’t see how some of you get up and tie your own shoes in the morning.

I have checked for jams and rails being blocked. All 4 cabinets are doing the exact same thing. If one was jammed, the other 3 would not act exactly the same. At least that makes logical sense in my head.

So it was working. Sounds like you either unintentionally did something, or something somehow got dislodged in there and is blocking your shite from closing.
I'd google and see if this is a common thing. Or maybe somehow contact the manufacturer.

Step two...keep posting on OT but whatever you do...DO NOT post a pic of the cabinet or include make/model or any other description.

There’s often a mechanism that keeps you from opening more than one drawer at a time, to keep it from tipping over. First, double check that all
Of the drawers are fully closed. Second, check to see if one of the drawers is jammed in a way that the rod in the back or side is not releasing

Pull one of the drawers out completely and see if you can see what is the others are hitting. Surely you have tried this right?!

It sounds like your lock mechanism is broken in the locked position

I'm pretty sure this is it.

I just reread a bookmarked post from when I tried to put on my shoes and found one was untied

This seems plausible. When if turn the key, the tension wire is moving. But I can't see the mechanism to lock or unlock each draw to see.

You seem helpless. Most men aren't so easily defeated by a such a simple piece of office furniture.
I bet you pull over and ask for directions.

Why don't you check in the file cabinet and see what is blocking it from closure?
There is usually a rod that locks all of them. You might have to move it manually, then close all the drawers, then lock it to seat it properly.
