Let's not kid ourselves, one thing/person set Baton Rouge on this course: John Parker. He killed the public school system in EBR, and as a result, killed the city.

I hope he's enjoying Hell.

You think it's racism. I'll let you stand on that point. It's embarrassingly wrong.

You should look into the psychological theory of "projection".

I didn't say you didn't live in Baton Rouge. Try to keep up.

One of the real ironic things about your racism position is that you have previously referred to black people multiple times as "the plague".

That, my friend, is as racist as it gets and it's disgusting. As is typical, those who throw the racism label around are usually the most racist of anyone.

You old timers had your chance and ruined this city, time to sit back and let the young folks come up with a solution to at least keep folks in the parish

He has implicitly admitted that Baton Rouge's only hope is that the people of St. George solve the problems. He just doesn't realize that he made that point.

He consistently, without realizing it, makes the case for St. George.

It was sarcasm. Try harder.

THAT IS A frickING LIE, AND You can frick off for saying it too.

The plague I referred to was the plague of criminal element that has taken over this city. It was your racist brain that caused it to be lost in translation to what you think I must have meant, maybe because that's the way you think.

I literally live next door to multiple black families, who I never hear from except to say hi briefly in the morning or evening when we get home because they work just like I do. I'm not moving away from them. They're good neighbors. What neither they or I want is the plague (the undesirable criminal element to paint it really simple stupid for you) to take over our investments. Nobody wants that, but you who thinks he lives in the real world are somehow under the impression that a st. George school district or line on the map is going to insulate you from that very same criminal element (plague) from taking you over, when you start leaving and running for the hills again, and it won't respect any of that.

what's hilarious about that, is that in most places in this country it's the younger generations pushing to move back to the urban areas of their cities, but not here, apparently it's old farts like me that get the reasoning behind that, and younger people like you who are going in the opposite direction of the rest of the country. I'm fricked up?

What gives you that impression? Is that what you think the incorporation effort is about?

So, you claim that families that want to escape crime and move are inherently racist. But, then refer to the criminal element as "the plague", make promises that "the plague" is only going to eventually move to St. George when "multi-family" housing is built.

Dude, you are a racist piece of shite.

Yeah, I do.

I think people want to hang on to their white Baton Rouge areas as long as possible, and as white as possible, because the generation pushing it is of that generation.

Want to preserve a way of life? Then use your money and invest in Baton Rouge, and let's save this city both white and black from those criminals who affect all of our lives, both white and black, and mostly good blacks to be completely honest more than good whites. But not us. Were going to keep doing what daddy and pawpaw did, and see if it doesn't eventually work itself out.

You can't run from this problem, not far enough away, because there's not enough real estate to run from before you run into a body of water. You have to fight, me not for St. George, or for LSU, but for us, you, me, and all of us who live in this area, the same that if you were looking at it from space would laugh at how tiny the speck is that we want to actually divide it into us versus them. That's retarded. Either leave the state, move to a different city, or fight for the place. Your school district is going to do nothing but screw the lot of us, both BR and SG alike.

It's not urban areas that's the problem. It's Baton Rouge. You are making the case for your opposition.

That's how I know you've run out of magic tricks. You've already lost the argument.

Multi family housing is overbuilt and more is being built as we speak. I've seen What overbuilding did to Tigerland and those who no longer market to students but people who breath and can't pass background checks required at other properties because they have mortgages and have to pay bills, and you can't pay bills when you don't have your market because it's over saturated.

You're ignorant, and your calling me a racist just underscores how very ignorant you really are.

That's just because you are out of touch, so you've rationalized the situation to one that makes you feel better. Just pretend that that 100,000 people are a bunch of racists.

People are going to act rationally and use their money to put their families in a position to thrive. There are fewer and fewer places in incorporated Baton Rouge to do that. And, rather than changing that, you think the solution is to demand that people that don't live in the city move into and invest in the city.

You are demanding that people that have lived in the St. George area for 10-20 years leave the state?

The people who live in the St. George area, and have for years, aren't doing anything to screw Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge screwed itself and apparently can't fix the problems.

Do people not get that cities need bus routes to hospitals? And now the Fox News style propaganda that is SG labeling this as their coming for your wife and kids on busses now, shows how misguided and afraid the SG people really are. Most of the people that ride busses use them for work. You know to provide a means for themselves. People complain about citizens not working and not contributing but your gonna bitch to high heavens about provided them a way to help themselves make a living? Wake the F up people! This isn't the 70s anymore.
And yes if you read through the SG website it's more about complaining about BR than anything else. There is some wack statements on that site. Very scary if that will be the mentality of a city.

You suppose you have overwhelming approval from the lot, and you don't. And no, I don't think they're hateful, but I do think what I said is true, and it's out of ignorance and being brought up here and never leaving it.

bullshite. The city is nothing but low density and a shitload of prime real estate remains untapped and unpopulated in and around downtown as we speak. And it's not dangerous. It's almost completely un-inhabited, and if and when you can get your head wrapped around this concept, you'll understand that YOU are the one who makes it desirable, not some outside act of Nature or Real Estate voodoo trick. YOU do it by showing interest in it and fixing it back up, this reclaiming it from the abyss it's become because people lost interest in it. That it just happens to be an area of a city that should be the most valuable real estate in the city, or it is in most every other city on this planet. It can be here as well. We just have to get our heads out our own asses.
