Give me one reason you are against us forming our own city that doesn't involve you taking our money

Baton Rouge is sinking.
Leave a house empty and it's taken over by rodents, birds, ants, roaches, and creepy crawly things. That's what you did. You abandoned it, and let's not kid ourselves here, to get away from blacks. But the funny thing is, it's not really the blacks or those in the black communities that are rotten and part of the criminal element that I blame. I blame good people who abandoned this place, built it like shite, building temporary structures, and then when it wasn't new anymore, you moved to the shiny new temporary structures you built. Trouble is, you'll do it again real soon because you haven't learned from your mistakes. You keep repeating them.
It's a pattern of stupid that's the enemy, not the criminals who wouldn't take over neighborhoods had you not thought those neighborhoods and parts of the city were disposable. Were always going to have the criminal element, regardless of skin Color. Man has had them since the beginning of civilization. We just haven't always surrendered cities to them to destroy and moved to pastures to avoid the problems. That's a pretty recent development.

So people just rob houses and casually lug their haul on buses?

I live in the heart of St. George. Which money is our money?

When have I mentioned race in this thread? Or in any the numerous St. George threads I've posted in, for that matter?

It was Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge killed itself. You will never fix it until you accept responsibility.

St. George loves its black residents. This is a Baton Rouge issue. Own it.

You blame everyone but those who should be blamed. It's a defense mechanism.
Your position is that you are powerless and that the fate of incorporated Baton Rouge rests with the people of St. George. Think about that. You are trying to place responsibility of the fate of the city with people who do not live in the city.
I find it quite audacious that you "blame" these people. You should be begging them to take care of you.

I don't think you have to mention it because it's there. It's always there under the surface, because it's at the root of all of this St. George mess.

Everyone should read this. St. George's biggest two opponents (Mike Da Tigah and LSURussian) have resorted to summarizing the St. George movement as one that is racism based.
You guys can stand on that opinion. I love that your argument is that paper thin. I'll stand on the opinion that the school system is the primary driver of the St. George movement. I'll let honest people determine who is right.

Before the early to mid 70s there was nothing but woods out there. I know, because I saw it being built. Who do you think you're fooling here? These are the Baton Rouge people who left those BR neighborhoods to rot when they left. When I was a teenager in the late 70s and early 80s, I dated plenty of girls off Plank and in Glen Oaks, In Belaire, and all over this city. Since then I've seen BR residents tuck tail and run, and what's taken over these neighborhoods are what normally takes over neighborhoods that you say you no longer want, the undesirable elements, even not all at once, but eventually it happens because you told them to do it.
And you know why? Because you never built to stay very long, and those areas in BR where people did build like they wanted to stay a while, well those are the desirable areas of Baton Rouge. It's no great shocker.

Do you think there are no black people in St. George?

You know how I know you're young? Because you reason like one, and think I'm somehow fooled into believing that all of these people I know, I really don't know, and haven't really heard the underlying tone that's come out of all their mouths about why they want St. George. You act as if you're carrying on some argument with someone in another state that doesn't know what's up, and you're going to trick me into thinking it's something other than I know damn well it is, because I live here in this city and grew up here.
You're ridiculous.

Oh I know there are, and know where they are, and also know the people living there don't like it either.

Your story about running away to a different neighborhood doesn't apply here. Nobody is moving anywhere. We already live here.
Moving to a new neighborhood =/= incorporating a bunch of unclaimed land into a city.

Central had to put up with the "ya'll are racist" crap during the process of becoming a city. This turned out NOT to be true. Our schools were neglected and we were pushed to the back burner by the mayor of Baton Rouge on several road and bridge projects. It IS about the schools no matter what some of the haters say.

Freedom is a great thing. I don't believe I have the right to tell people where they should live.

Welcome to the real world. People don't want to live where they don't feel safe or where they don't feel their kids can thrive. If you could solve that, you could solve your problem.
Unfortunately, you can't. Instead of trying to solve the problem, you blame people for not accepting it. What an arse backwards way of thinking. It's a very liberal mindset that is the true cause of this. Don't make the city attractive. Attack those who make a logical selfless decision to move their family to a place where they can thrive.

I know 2 separate couples in the Garden district, who are planning to move because of the crime in the area. One is planning a family, the other has 1 young child.
It's your fault. You allowed this to happen.

Yes you are. Next stop, AP and LP. Watch if I'm not spot on with that. You'll move and quick, especially when your new school district starts attracting black families. You'll move with the quickness, and when you do, you'll have another not so clever reason for it no doubt, but you'll move.
