For my relatively healthy patients I say something like “the CDC recommends a covid vaccine or booster.

Why? Do you spew everything the cdc says? Do you do any of your own research and evaluation?
Lots of docs recommend avoiding the shots altogether. The ones I know personally seem to do their own evaluation of studies and base their decisions on their experiences with covid. Is that not what you do, how did you come to a different conclusion based on studies like this?

Anyone getting the vaccine was an idiot. No way to sugar coat it, the vaccine kills people. My father-in-law died one week after his second shot from blood clots.

Sorry for your loss? What was your father-in-law’s risk for blood clots prior to the shot? If you don’t know his prevaccination and post vaccination clotting risks and you blame it on the vaccine then that’s just an emotional reaction on your part which is understandable given it’s a loved one who passed.

Because those recommendations are based on the entirety of evidence available. I would not be doing a justice to my patients if I didn’t atleast tell them the recommendations.

I have done my research on it for years. I base my recommendations based upon the individual patient. However I still tell them the CDC recommends it even if I don’t think they need it. That way the patient can make an informed decision.

ETA: Lots of docs still prescribe atenolol for high blood pressure even though there are much better options out there. Lots of docs still prescribe antibiotics for sinus symptoms that have lasted less than a week even though it’s most likely a viral infection at that point. Lots of doctors still prescribe antibiotics for the flu even though the flu is a virus and antibiotics don’t work on viruses. Lots of doctors prescribe testosterone supplements to help males with fatigue even though testosterone therapy hasn’t been shown to be effective for fatigue. Lots of doctors prescribe antidepressants for depression just because the PHQ9 score was high without asking additional questions and seeing if someone is actually depressed or not. Lots of doctors prescribe Ambien long term for insomnia even though it actually worsens insomnia in the long term. Just because lots of doctors do something doesn’t make it right.

So what do you recommend? Do you recommend following the cdc?

It's a garbage article because for a sample size that large, there is no reason to not be specific when posting the results. It is not quality writing to use an average across the results in scientific writing, unless they didn't even bother to breakdown the results by type.

It’s broken down in the study published in the BMJ.

It depends on the patient and their risk factors and overall health etc.

You have to love these arguments. The guy lives 68 years with no major issues. Dies a week after the second shot, with blood clots in multiple organs. This was guy who had vaccinations and flu shots his whole life.

This is just my personal story, but there are thousands out there just like it.

The vaccine kills people, not everyone, but it is deadly. Humanity is better off never taking those again.
