When I said private banking, I meant like Chase private client where you require a min of $250k in deposits

I hate Chase. I bank locally now.

Heads up with Regions: the maximum you can deposit with the mobile app is ~$500/day and only $2k/month. Kinda worthless.

Interesting. I'm actually about to leave Regions and was considering choosing Whitney. Anyone here know how up to speed the online banking is for Whitney/Hancock?
Also, married folks, do you use separate accounts or joint account? Or both???

We have joint and separate. I use Regions and have had zero issues with them for probably 15 years.

Is part of Bancorpsouth now. You should go with this, since my GF owns stock in them.

If you're going to be traveling at all and think you'll need access to a branch go with Chase.
As far as the fees are concerned, I know the minimum balance fee is normally waived if you have direct deposit or use your debit card for a certain number of purchases every month.
Why is Capital One not on your list? I've been with them for a long time (since they were Hibernia) and I've never had a problem. They also have branches nationwide in some places. I'd look into them.
I've never heard of Simple, I wouldn't put my money into a bank I've never even heard of.
Regions is a good bank, I've never dealt with them personally though. A friend of mine's mom is an Exec. VP with them so I have to give them props.

I didn't really think about them. I'll look into it. I'm gonna make a decision before this afternoon so I can go take care of it today.

Chase does have min balances to avoid monthly fee, but if you have at least $500.00 direct deposited each month, then no monthly fee for balances below min.

Chase does charge more fees but I switched there because they have branches EVERYWHERE in Arizona.

Hard to beat the online banking Chase offers. Plus they have branches nation wide.

Epic thread title/username combo.
What is the monthly fee?

Credit Unions > Banks
Most Credit Unions are linked up to the same network, so you can access your money across the country. While their mobile apps lack behind the big banks, they still work just fine. My Credit Union does not charge an overdraft fee. They don't require a minimum balance, have a monthly service fee, etc. A book of checks are $8. Their interest rates often times are better than banks. Their CC interest rates are usually lower than banks.
All of this ^
I switched from Chase and couldn't be happier. There are actually more ATM locations that I can use for free than I had with Chase. It's any Wal-Greens, CVS, COSTCO and most gas stations.
ETA: Forgot to mention that when I travel I can use any other Credit Union in the network which is around 99% of them. It's how they are able to keep up with the big banks and still offer their services so cheap and reliably.

Apparently regions is for poor people or some shite but I've never had a problem with it.
