I’ve never seen devastation like this. It’s surreal. We are blessed to still have a home, yet I feel guilty for it, if that makes sense, thanks for all of your well wishes.

Seeing that will change you in ways, you can't help it. Being that close to the fury of Nature can make us feel small and insignificant. Having survivor's guilt is a real thing as we struggle to rationalize the seeming randomness of it all. For some people these feelings and emotions don't happen all at once, instead they're a slow burn as realization of the scope and full impacts set in over time. Keep a watch on those close to you, your son who was a first responder, wife, and others involved, they all will process it differently. Keep tabs on yourself, too.

My aunt lives in that subdivision...Sunshine Hill Road West. It missed her house by 100 yards. Her place backs up to the Pine Grove Elem School, IIRC. One of the few houses left standing. My cousin says the Knox County Education Association is setting up in an empty lot next to my aunt's house tomorrow to give out food and water, etc. if you need anything.

Guardian Angels doing work to get your family out of there. Glad you are OK and sounds like you are well on track of putting it all back together. God speed!

I know several people from London and I knew two people who lived in that subdivision that died. Crazy.

My uncle is in Bloomington, IN, and sent me a picture of a twister he took from his porch this weekend. The Bloomingtonian also has a lot of great shots here, but there's a great one of the storm by "Dawna Miller Photography" that was forwarded to me via Whatsapp that I can't find the source for at work (appears to be on FB/IG.)

This tornado received a final rating of a 170mph EF4 based on the damage it did in the town of London, KY.

Here is a loop of the life of the storm that produced the tornado. The guy who runs this account is from one of the towns that was hit. I'm not sure which town.
