I will never live in a neighborhood with an HOA again.

The stuff parked and sitting in the street would piss me off though. No doubt.
Well...45' of truck and trailer parked there for about 80 days...
Thats why I got mad...
I got really mad when I heard that he planned to keep it there...

You may not be a Karen, but like you admitted, you handled the scenario poorly and now old boy will likely keep his belongings where they are just to dig his feet in to piss you off.
My question is...how would you have handled this situation?
I wouldn't email next time for sure...after he's been reported by someone else...I feel foolish for doing that...but I'm confident he'd learn i also called the city..
... talking to him about moving his stuff out of the street I'm telling you it would not go well...
Regardless...he probably hates me now...and thinks I'm nuts
I think he needs to sell something or move to the country...

You should probably move, your street sounds trashy

What have I typed that would suggest I'm drunk?
I'm just amazed how many posters here would put up with a neighbor dominanting the cul de sac with his possessions...2 of which are breaking city ordinances...
You must like a community that looks trashy?
I do not...
None of this would be an issue if he was considerate and the HOA had balls to do their job.
Its taken the city compliance office to get his attention...
I never wanted to be involved...and I never want to see this rig sitting outside my house....

4. Wife car on driveway for 10 years
What's wrong with these?
Exactly why I would never live in a damned subdivision.

Have you ever seen that TV show Fear Thy Neighbor? It starts just like you semi described. Good luck.

If I had a better option..
I would in a heartbeat.
Market is slim pickings...
Our location is hard to beat...
Sadly none of this that big of deal...compared to things that really matter
But now...relationships are tarnished...
It is what it is...a lesson for all...

To me, none of these on their own are a problem. I don’t mind seeing anything parked in driveways. It’s when they are constantly blocking the sidewalk that it becomes a problem. It is a nuisance when you are on a walk with your kids and you are always having to weave in and out from the sidewalk to the street and back. I’d rather them park in the street and keep the sidewalk clear.

I never understood why people who have/want a bunch of shite, would move into a damned subdivision. If you need two trailers, have a boat you keep at home, and an RV, you need acreage! Not a damn 1/4 lot in a subdivision!

I mean, you put up with it for ten years. You and the cul de sac crew should have addressed this years ago.

I will never understand the logic behind people who choose to buy property in communities with covenants, codes and restrictions and abide by them being bigger assholes than people in those communities that do not abide by them.

I wanted to and should have...but you don't know the neighbor like I do...
Others didn't want to confront him either...
Isn't this why HOAs exist? To keep the peace among neighbors?
He's a bully when it comes to this kind of situation...
He cursed the HOA people...years ago about his driveway trailer...
Right now it's draped with fake leaves...I kid you not...
They let him keep it on the driveway...25' from his front door
Forgive me for assuming...this would be no different

I don't follow your sentence...
I'm the bigger a hole for wanting everyone to respect the rules we "choose" to live under?

I think you mean the HOA should have addressed this 10 years ago.
My rule of thumb is...if everyone had what he had on his driveway would the community look trashy? If yes..then you know its not right...
