“They said that they bought my grandmother's old house and wanted to know if any weird stuff happened when she lived there. I said not to my knowledge, like what?“

“She says no and he walks into the back room and shoots himself in the head.”

That seems like a pretty big detail to forget.

Why? Nobody really adds anything to it anymore.

The majority of posts in the last several years now are people bumping it.

I understand, but this thread has some incredible stories.

If it were stickied people who don't even know it exists could read the old stories.

Then suddenly, a cold burst of air,

It’s always a cold burst of air. I worked at an ems station that was haunted and all of us who worked there had this happen. You’d hear knocking, dishes being moved, doors shutting, waking up by random cold bursts of air. I don’t understand the cold burst of air part but I had it twice working there as did others

I’ll add, our rooms were individual, so 2 of us at the station with 2 separate rooms. There was 3 lockers in each room for 3 different shifts. I went to bed one night, well after my partner who slept in a different room, also not the pranking type. Other lockers always stayed closed and I kept mine closed. Woke up to all the locker doors wide open, and my clothes that I had laid out on a desk all laying on the floor. It’s possible I slept walked (I never have at least sober done that) but still freaked me out. Other employees said they’ve seen aberrations but I never did.

Unless the story takes place in the woods.

Then it's: "Suddenly, everything went quiet and there was this smell....".

One explanation I've heard is that it's the result of a spirit sucking up energy to manifest itself.

It’s weird, was always when we were asleep but enough to wake us. Never just randomly while watching tv or something

I was never the believing in that stuff type. When I got woken up both times it was also a very unsettling feeling in my gut, just a horrible feel. No smells or anything, no voices. Just unsettling. Didn’t go to bed even thinking about that kind of stuff

Not heard.. but my own. Still makes me think.

When I was a teen, I woke up one Saturday morning and it was like the ceiling of my bedroom was slowly getting closer to the bed while I was laying there. No sounds. No breaking up like it was falling. It was just getting closer. I was seeing it while still in the just woke up haze. The time where something just doesn’t process really quick.

I roll onto my side to see what is happening and I see myself laying on the bed still asleep.

I freak out and then all the sudden I’m sitting up in bed, room as it always was, but I was completely out of breath. The out of breath like you had a coughing fit and you struggle to get it back.

Room was the same as I had just saw. Same time of day. Sun coming through the window was the same. Not like some dream where you were somewhere else and then you wake up and know it was a dream. The room was exactly the same as my “dream”. Except I was back on the bed.

To this day I don’t know if I stopped breathing in bed that morning and almost died or it was a very very accurate lifelike dream that just freaked me out.

Maybe. But that doesn’t explain seeing myself still asleep in the same room.

And I didn’t wake up and couldn’t move. I could move in my dream or whatever.

When I woke up on the bed I could move immediately. Albeit struggling to catch my breath.

I've had the same happen to me. Floating over my bed, but then I could feel myself falling back into my body. Strange experience all around. Only happened once though.

That was exactly it. Like I just fell back. When I hit my still sleeping body, that’s when I shot right up and was catching my breath. And it happened to me only once.

I had a sleep paralysis event that ended with me finally getting out of bed, walking to the living room and running toward the window of a second story apartment.

Luckily my girlfriend at the time followed me and woke me before i did something stupid.

Whether or not you had it, sleep paralysis is scary af.
