I'm definitely willing to try. This just happened, I'm really kind of numb right now. She's the one that said she's done.
----

How has she treated the kid ? A lil more distant then before. ?

No, she's great with him. We never fight in front of him. He'll be very loved and cared for by both of us. He'll always come first.

First off, women are overly emotional beings and can say things that men wouldn't ever dream saying to their spouse. Let the situation calm down, don't be so reactive to what she's doing and give her a little room. When she cools down, y'all sit down and talk things out. We all know that marriage isn't easy at all and it takes effort, passiveness and forgiveness. We often process our expectations of our spouses through how we would handle situations and that causes major problems.

Mine was and still is good to our kid. But when their mind is somewhere else it shows. They forget about everyone. Mine wasn't close to our boy or me over the course of a few months. And I finally fig out why.

Good for you both. It sometimes gets lost in bad divorces.

The best advice I can give, because I just went thru this, is try to mediate everything yourselves. Both of our lawyers wanted to go at each other at our expense. We would have ended up with lawyer fees of 20-30k.

There was no way I was gonna spend that kind of money, that may possibly go to my kids, to watch two lawyers go at it.

We decided to sit down and try to figure out what is fair, and were able to come up with a figure that we could both live with. Now she is happy and not worrying about money, and neither am I. We get along well now. No fighting, and that's what is important for the kids.

Just wondering...why did y'all get married in the first place? Didn't know her well enough?

I guess this could be said for all divorces.

Bring on the downvotes frickers.

Wife left in February. We'd been married 10+ years, together for 12+. Sucks

I always hear about how divorces absolutely screw the male over, but how on earth is it legal to enforce the husband to pay money to his ex wife if she is the one who is splitting off?

Is the game that blatantly rigged?
