Need recommendation for draftsman to tweak house plan

We currently reside in EBR and bought an acre lot in Prairieville. We have our house plans. The plans were used by a family member to build their house in Georgia and they graciously shared the plans with us. Our problem is that the house is a tight fit for our lot. We need to detach the garage and move it back and add a porte cochere on the side of the house. We also need to possibly lose a little square footage on the width and regain the footage by stretching the length of the house.
I am looking for any recommendations with anecdotal information on why you would/wouldn't recommend someone. Thanks.

Don't think so but I am trying to find out for sure. I know we have all of the paper plans. The house was originally built approximately 20 years ago.

Obsolete, you'll need to get them drawn. Draftsman/Designer will go off the floor plan and have to re-do the whole house to meet new codes. Looking at about 50-60 cents a square foot.

I looked at what we have and we do not have the plans in AutoCAD (DWG) file. We do have the plans in PDF. It is my understanding that the PDF can be converted to DWG. Is my understanding correct?

It always amazes me that Louisiana lets drafters design entire houses with foundations with exactly zero educational requirements, especially with the shitty soil that populates south LA.

That's not a good thing. You're looking at more than just tweaking.

Yes and no. While there are converters out there, it is a very basic conversion and not 100%. For example, the converter will place all lines in the same layer or level (I forget what AutoCAD calls them). The separating and placement into correct layers will have to be done by the draftsman.

You may be better off just selecting a different house and purchasing the plans versus having a draftsman convert them and modify them, if you only have plans in PDF from 20 years ago.
